BRIEF
Following ECOTONE colour application of precast concrete panels, a high-performance protective system was required to preserve surface integrity and ensure long-term durability in a high-use community sporting facility.
The project required:
- Long-term anti-graffiti protection for exposed concrete surfaces
- Resistance to environmental exposure and surface contamination
- Reduced maintenance intervention for council-managed infrastructure
- Preservation of a clean, contemporary architectural finish
MATERIAL & APPLICATION
- ECOCLEAN Ultra Graffiti Shield
ECOCLEAN Ultra Graffiti Shield is a high-performance, two-component nano-diamond catalyst coating applied to completed precast concrete surfaces. The system forms a hydrophobic, pore-sealing barrier that prevents graffiti bonding while protecting the substrate from water, paint, and ink penetration.
OUTCOME
ECOCLEAN Ultra Graffiti Shield delivers long-term protection for the finished architectural concrete at Heath Park Pavilion, ensuring resilience in a high-traffic public environment.
The coating exceeds APAS 1441 Appendix A performance requirements and provides a durable anti-graffiti barrier that allows for fast, non-abrasive removal of vandalism without damaging the substrate. Its hydrophobic, pore-sealing properties also reduce water and contaminant ingress, significantly improving cleanability and reducing ongoing maintenance demands.
In addition to its protective performance, the system subtly enhances the visual quality of the concrete, enriching surface tone while maintaining a natural architectural finish.
The result is a robust, low-maintenance façade system that preserves the appearance and integrity of the pavilion’s concrete surfaces while supporting long-term asset performance for community infrastructure.
”Heath Park is already proving to be a vibrant hub for sports enthusiasts and community members in our growing suburb of Eglinton. This facility ensures local sporting activities can run smoothly, supporting players, club personnel, volunteers and spectators.
